Vordel announces commitment to HP governance interoperablity framework
Dublin, Ireland and Boston, Mass - January 28, 2008 XML network management company Vordel today announced product interoperability under the HP Governance Interoperability Framework (GIF). As a consequence of the agreement, customers can use HP SOA Systinet as the system-of-record for the policies used in Vordelís XML Network Management products.
Critical to service-oriented architecture (SOA) deployment is the ability to manage, both at design-time and at run-time, the policies†which govern service usage and service performance. Recognizing this, Vordel is committed to providing its customers with the most efficient and scalable policy management solution for their SOA deployments. At design-time, policies created by Vordelís Policy Studio may be stored and managed in HP SOA Systinet. At run-time, policies from HP SOA Systinet may be enforced at Vordel XML Gateways.
Mark OíNeill, Vordel CTO, commenting on the announcement, said: "Organizations deploying SOA have a crucial requirement to manage the policies which govern SOA usage and performance. These policies must be controlled, versioned, archived, and consolidated. HP SOA Systinet meets these requirements by providing the system-of-record for policies and other information in the SOA. Vordelís best-of-breed tools for policy design and policy enforcement will now be able to use HP SOA Systinet as a policy store, thus completing the full cycle of policy management through all three stages: policy creation, policy storage in a system-of-record, and policy enforcement on the network."
Vordelís participation in the HP GIF program helps add value to customers by offering a proven, standards-based technology stack for policy creation and management. At design-time, Vordelís Policy Studio allows policies to be created in an intuitive manner, using drag-and-drop.
Avrami Tzur, vice president of SOA Software at HP, said: "HPís work with Vordel offers customers with a full policy framework for their SOA, which allows organizations to scale their SOA deployments in a controlled manner. In addition, Vordelís HP GIF integration uses open standards, which provide the benefits of interoperability and platform neutrality."
