Vordel announces PKI-enabled browser plug-in for TalkXML Version 2.1

Orlando, USA - 20 September 2000 - Vordel, a global provider of XML based cohesion technologies for eBusiness, today announced the release of a plug-in version of its TalkXML browser to deliver secure XML functionality to an end-user's desktop.  It is due for release on 12 October.

The plug-in version of the TalkXML Viewer product will be installable automatically and provides the end-user with the functionality to complete XML forms and encrypt and sign them using digital certificate signatures such as those used within a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

According to Mark O'Neill, Technical Director at Vordel: "The simplicity of the plug-in version is very appealing to our customers. End-users simply navigate to a web page, and once they have completed their initial certification, they can view and submit XML documents without any need for an application to be installed on their PC. As with all Vordel products, the user is shielded from the complexities of the underlying XML and encryption technology."

A further advantage of the plug-in is the fact that forms can be updated and completed without any need to re-install the plug-in. O'Neill added: "In response to the increasing need from companies to move greater amounts of their computing to a secure XML-based environment without the need to install client software, Vordel has provided this additional functionality to the TalkXML suite in an extremely easy-to-use format."
