Vordel's TalkXML to be included as value-added B2B offering to the WISekey Public Key Infrastructure service
Geneva, Switzerland - 27 November 2000
- Vordel, a global provider of XML based cohesion technologies for eBusiness today announced that the latest version of its
TalkXML product suite has been made interoperable with the WISeKey Global PKI Infrastructure. The announcement was made at the
Wiseworld 2000 event being hosted in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union, at the International
Conference Centre in Geneva.
The WISeworld 2000 event is an annual event organized by the World Internet Secure Key WISeKey, the world's largest Public Key
Infrastructure and Global Common ROOT service provider, based in Switzerland. As a member of the WISekey expert group, Vordel
is meeting with leading members of the WISeKey Expert Group, representatives from Government organizations and private industry
sectors worldwide. Companies associated with Vordel at this event include Vordel partners Baltimore Technologies, Rainbow,
WorldCom and other leading players in the security field such as Oracle, OCTREE Technologies, Valicert, UNNEt, Hewlett Packard,
WISekey, Celocom and Datamatics.
Less than a year after the ITU-WISeKey-WTC Geneva signed a partnership agreement, deployment of eBusiness infrastructure has
started in more than 100 countries funded by a US$4 million in-kind contribution made by WISeKey to a Trust Fund set up under
the agreement. The agreement is part of the Electronic Commerce for Developing Countries (EC-DC) project of ITU, which aims at
enabling developing countries to use existing infrastructures and services to join the digital economy through non-exclusive
partnerships with the industry.
Vordel's TalkXML solution will provide WISeKey with a world-leading value-added service to its PKI based offering.
"The combined WISekey PKI solution provides an extensive security framework and Vordel's TalkXML product suite delivers
business focused solutions that meet real business requirements", said David Ryan, CEO, Vordel. The fact that Vordel's solution
is now interoperable with the WISeKey PKI security platform provides us with an excellent opportunity to further our expansion
into the provision of cohesion technologies to leading institutions in the field of telecommunications in over 180 member
countries."
Malcolm Hutchinson, CEO of WISeKey reinforced this opinion, stating: "Vordel is providing a serious added-value solution to
secure B2B transactions within secure trade infrastructures by marrying the trust of PKI with the interoperability features of
XML. The TalkXML application will be of interest to many of our customers, enabling them to send and receive XML-based sensitive
business documents which have been signed and encrypted within the WISeKey Root Certificate Authority."
