September 30 ,2002 Boston, MA - Vordel, the Web services security company, today announced the launch of a Secure Partner Integration solution for the financial services sector. The solution enables large financial services institutions to more securely integrate their systems quickly and easily with those of their partners, using Web Services.
The solution seeks to combine high-performance enterprise hardware from Intel and HP with best-of-breed software from Microsoft's .NET platform and the Web Services security product, VordelSecure.
Deborah Conrad, Director of Solutions Market Development at Intel, said that "the combination of world class software with the new generation of Intel's Itanium 2 processor address the key concerns companies have about the speed and security of processing high volumes of transactions in a Web Services environment".
"IT departments will be able to take advantage of the opportunities presented by this open standards based approach to securing their Web Services, ensuring interoperability today and the future proofing of their investment, regardless of platform", she went on.
Welcoming the announcement, Derek O'Carroll, CEO of Vordel, stated that "the goal of this collaborative effort is to provide financial institutions with a solution that will allow them to offer secure Web Services to their trading partners over an open network".
"VordelSecure provides the required link between security technologies and Web Services technologies," continued O'Carroll, "allowing a company to leverage its existing security infrastructure to secure its Web Services. With this solution customers now have the flexibility to select the platforms of their choice."
Simon Witts, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Microsoft EMEA, commented: "Microsoft .NET enables both new and existing applications to connect with software and services across platforms, applications and programming languages. This solution will enable companies to deploy secure Web Services quickly and cost-effectively to help drive their business."
"HP Intel Solution Centers are on the forefront of enabling secure Web-based solutions for our customers. In the financial industry, using secure Web Services to integrate business communications with customers and partners leads to increased efficiency and reduced costs," said Matt Barry, director of the HP Intel Solution Centers, Americas.
Based on open standards, the Secure Partner Integration Solution's reliability, ease of configuration, and speed, make it especially suitable for the Financial Services sector.
