nCipher and Vordel address security challenges at XML and Web Services security Workshop
XML and Web Services, the associated security issues and how to address them - The Energy Bank, London, 3 July 2003

The event will address the security challenges posed by XML and Web Services, how to develop secure Web Services and gain the benefits of seamlessly integrating business processes and applications both within and between organizations.

Dr. Paul Galwas, Director of Strategic Planning at nCipher, will be speaking on how new application development tools have made it easy to build and deploy Web Services that access sensitive data and why XML Security must provide confidentiality and integrity for transactions & communications.

Also contributing is Mr Nic Merriman, .NET Application Architect with Microsoft, who will talk about the role Microsoft is playing in the XML Web Services field and the evolution of the standards in this important space.

The workshop will examine the importance of managing user identities, being able to verify who or what is on the other end of a network connection, why encryption and digital signatures are at the heart of XML security and what role security plays in a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA).
