San Francisco, February 6, 2007 - Vordel today announced at the annual RSA Security conference a voluntary initiative to enable users of its best-selling SOA Design-time policy test tool, Vordel SOAPbox, to contribute to the neutralization of carbon dioxide emissions. The company will dedicate a tree through The CarbonNeutral Company for every edition of the SOAPbox purchased.
Vordel is joining the ranks of leading companies and organizations around the world to take action to reduce CO2 emissions. CO2 levels have risen one third since the industrial revolution and are set to double in the next 100 years; temperatures are projected to rise between 1.4 and 5.8 degrees centigrade over the next 100 years.
Sue Welland, Executive Director at The CarbonNeutral Company commenting on the announcement said, "This is a great initiative and one that could encourage people to think about their contribution to climate change'.
Vordel VP Marketing Hugh Carroll speaking on the announcement said "Human induced climate change - which results from increased 'greenhouse' gases - is the greatest environmental threat of this century. Vordel is making this pledge to assist in the neutralization of carbon emissions.
We recognize that people want to work in as environmentally responsible a manner as possible in their workday lives, but sometimes don't know how. By launching this initiative, we will get people thinking about how they can make a real difference."
