Dublin, October 17, 2006 - Vordel CTO, Mark O'Neill has been invited to deliver a keynote address at the forthcoming annual NITES eSecurity Summit (Dublin November 8-9). Vordel has been selected along with representatives from Cisco, Motorola and IBM to present on the role Identity has to play at the heart of new technologies such as SOA and Web 2.0 and the implications of failing to adopt an identity-centric approach to security enforcement.
In his presentation "The Identity Gap" O'Neill, author of the book, "Web Services Security", discusses the need for an identity-centric approach when deploying SOA and Web 2.0 technologies. He questions the role for PKI in today's enterprise and examines what role identity has to play in such areas of digital rights management, weblogs and the delivery of eGovernment services.
The presentation will also provide interesting case study insights to some of Vordel's deployment of SOA security and management technologies around the world, providing support for the case to put identity management at the heart of an IT security infrastructure.
Other speakers include William C. Boni, CISO at Motorola, Nicolas Fischbach, Senior Manager of European Network Security with Colt Telecom, Guy Denton, IBM Ethical Hacking Worldwide Competency leader at IBM, Paul King, Senior Security Adviser with Cisco and Robert Schifreen, Author of "Defeating the Hacker"
