Vordel VX4000 is a turnkey hardware appliance form factor of the Vordel Application Gateway. It features Vordel's high performance software in a hardened appliance that is ready for deployment in the DMZ. Vordel VX4000 is a rack mountable 1U appliance featuring Gigabit networking and no single point of failure, meeting carrier-grade network requirements.

Designed For Security

VX4000 has been locked down using security best practice. All extraneous services from the operating system and supporting technology components have been removed. All configurations have been set to maximize security. Management and data interfaces are separated in the operating environment. The dedicated management interface is secured using SSL with digital certificates. Policies stored on the appliance are encrypted, with keys stored on the on-board Hardware Security Module (HSM).

Hardware Security Module and Crypto Accelerator

VX4000 comes equipped with cryptographic acceleration on-board to ensure high performance even at very high traffic throughput. VX4000 supports both on-board and network Hardware Security Module (HSM) options for secured management of PKI keys.

Designed For High Availability

Vordel VX4000 appliance is designed for mission critical applications. With redundant power supplies and built-in RAID, VX4000 is designed to be hardware fault tolerant. In clustered deployments, each VX4000 runs independently with no dependency on other Gateway units or supporting infrastructure, thus a Vordel cluster has no single point of failure. Vordel VX4000 is instrumented for monitoring in Network Operations Center by tools such as HP OpenView and CA UniCenter.

100% Compatibility With Other Form Factors

VX4000 appliance is 100% compatible with Vordel Application Gateway in software form factors. Policies developed on any Gateway unit maybe deployed to any other Gateway unit, software or hardware. Administration, monitoring, and reporting of Gateways are performed in a consistent manner across all Gateways regardless of form factor.
