Processing Offload
Vordel's XML networking products offload the heavy-lifting of XML from application servers and onto the network. This frees up resources on application servers and allows applications to run faster. By taking processing tasks off application servers and placing them on Vordel's dedicated XML Networking products, applications are accelerated.

XML Traffic Routing
Vordel's XML Networking products route XML based on sender identity, XML content, and XML content type. This allows XML messages to be sent to the appropriate application. It also allows for "service virtualization" to be performed, whereby services are exposed to clients with "virtualized" addresses, which mask their actual addresses for security and application-delivery reasons.

XML Data Enrichment
"XML Data Enrichment" involves automatically populating content in XML documents from sources such as databases. This is used, for example, by a mobile telecoms operation which uses Vordel's XML Networking products to look up customer SMS subscriptions based on their subscriber ID. By putting this functionality onto XML Networking infrastructure, the information is automatically populated into the XML messages before they reach the consuming Web Services

XML Security Processing
The standards XML Signature and XML Encryption define how XML messages are signed and encrypted. Vordel offloads the signature and encryption processing on to custom XML Networking infrastructure on the network. Vordel's XML Security processing also allows XML data screening to happen on the network, before it can harm applications.
